AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX

Zeltweg, Osterreichring, A1-Ring and now, the Red Bull Ring. You could be forgiven for thinking the Austrian Grand Prix has moved around many circuits, but you'd be wrong, because apart from the 1964 race held at an airfield track, all the other races, from 1970 to '87 and from 1997 to 2003 were actually held at the same circuit, which kept changing it's name. By the time it became the A1-Ring, it also changed it's layout as the previous one was deemed simply too dangerous – just ask the deer that was killed when it was hit by Stefan Johannson in the McLaren during Friday practice for the 1987 race.

In 2014, the race therefore made a comeback after an absence of a decade, after Red Bull took over the track and agreed with the F1 promoter to host the Grand Prix. Definitely an important weekend for Toro Rosso, as well as our friends at Red Bull Racing of course.
