Here, everything is on a human scale, and reachable with a few pedal strokes, whether it's the kids cycling to school or the older folk shopping in the market, making the bicycle the preferred mode of transport here. The diversity of the surrounding area is the basis of a great quality of life for those born here or those who came here for work. Wine from the vineyards, fresh fruit, cheese, or cured meats, the taste of the Romagna region is to be found in all the restaurants and on the trestles in the markets of Faenza so that you really can't go wrong!
"Mens sana in corpore sano." There is plenty for those who like the great outdoors to get their teeth into here. You can go running or mountain biking on long flat routes or on picturesque climbs. Trekking, climbing, down-hill, go-kart, swimming, football, fencing, rugby, basketball, archery: all are available to help you keep in shape. And for lovers of motorsport, the Imola, Misano and Mugello circuits are not far away, hosting meetings for two and four wheeled competition at international level. You can also relax within the city walls of Faenza, visiting the International Ceramics Museum or strolling round the green "lungs" of the city, the Bucci Park.
Faenza is also well situated geographically, with the sea and the mountains, the Romagna Riviera and the Apennine mountains. There are great cities famous for their art such as Florence and Venice and international airports at Bologna and Verona. It's easy to get to and then there's the famous Palio in June, when the whole city comes alive, with parties in the different districts, the festivals, the medieval parades, all based around the scenic Piazza del Popolo and the beautiful Renaissance Saint Peter the Apostle Cathedral.
